"As the sizzle goes out of the burger business, could the chains be headed for a whopper of a fall? I have been eating at Burger King and McDonald's lately, not so much for the food - permissible understatement - but as an experiment in anticipatory archeology. Never before has the Burger Way of Life been so threatened. Indeed, in the grand opera of American popular culture, we may be witnessing the climactic Burger-dammerung: the twilight of the fast-food hamburger."
We couldn't agree more here at Fast Food Fever. The major chains have to get crackin' with more interesting cuisine and bring back the burger we all love and miss - a real burger with options and taste!
Time of Meal: Sunday (or any day) Brunch
Just minutes before the morning change-over from breakfast to lunch, order one freshly-made Breakfast Burrito and one side order of crisp bacon (usually three bacon strips or more at this time of day).
At the same time or within a few minutes (depending upon your local restaurant and the time it takes them to convert breakfast to lunch) order one 99-cent Spicy Chicken sandwich.
Fully open the tortilla of the burrito sandwich, slice the chicken patty into small pieces and add to the burrito, crumble the bacon (and any other accoutrements) over the entire newly formed sandwich, and re-wrap the tortilla closed at both ends.
Slice in the center and you've just created a spicy Mexican chicken fajita for two.
"Are you a culinary klutz? Can't boil water without burning it? Then this site's for you. Rather than having to go through the hassle of -- heaven forbid! -- making or even warming up food, this menu mangling step-by-step guide shows you how to really impress a date or coworker. Yes, by taking simple, premade items such as an apple pie or a couple of off-the-shelf burgers, one can concoct such creations as the Surf and Turf and the, um, interesting sounding FryJita. A photo essay illustrates each creation, and it has a difficulty level guide in case you're unable to work out what the big words mean."
